It's the small things...

We ordered pizza. It was my craving. He didn't necessarily want pizza, but lovingly gave in because he knows I love it...and I wouldn't have stopped nagging until I had it! Over some random George Clooney movie and cranberry gingerale we had pizza. Greasy, cheesy pepperoni pizza. It was delicious. So delicious, in fact, that there were only two pieces left over. They went into the fridge and we went to bed.

I awoke thinking about pizza, but knowing that the pizza was probably boxed up and at Jay's office for lunch. Good for him...taking his lunch to work. I got out of bed, played with Scarlett and pulled out a box of cereal. I opened the fridge for the milk and the pizza box was still there. Hmm...two pieces of pizza, glorious pizza, waiting for me. You see, Jay knows just how much I love pizza for breakfast. And while I'm sure he would have rather had that for lunch than the sandwich he made himself, he knows just how much I love pizza for breakfast.

After an excited squeal, the pizza quickly made its way from plate to microwave to my belly. I was one satisfied wife...who has one awesome husband. You see, its so easy to get caught up in the everyday grind and forget about the small things that matter. And that day, the pizza for breakfast mattered. Ah, the small things that are suddenly so large...

Laura & Steve...Engaged!

Laura and Steve are very dear friends to Jay and me. In fact, they introduced us...good match, huh?! They are getting married on 4-30-2011 and I cannot tell you how excited we are for them!

We met down in Charleston for their engagement shoot, and we couldn't have asked for better weather! We headed out to the beach for sunrise and the light was oh so yummy! Hope you enjoy...

Let me start this post by saying that I have been a total blog slacker lately! Seems that life has just gotten in the way. But rest assured that I have some lovely pics to share with you soon!

On a beautiful and sunny day, Wes and Jenn tied the knot in Charleston, SC. It was a fabulous ceremony and a super fun party. It was very evident throughout the day that these two belong together, and I am honored to call them friends AND family. Thank you, Wesser and JPatt for letting me share you wonderful day with you! Snow Day!!!

Two weekends ago, Charlotte was a winter wonderland. Well, not exactly. It was more like a sheet of ice with a little snow on top, but hey, we don't see much of the white stuff in these parts, so we'll take what we can get!

I absolutely love the snow. I like to sit inside with a mug of hot chocolate and gaze out the windows at its beauty after I've been outside playing with the other member of my family that loves it more than the rest. Yes, it's no secret that Scarlett LOVES the snow. So much so that we had to chase her down in the yard and leash her to get her to come inside! She truly had a blast learning how to catch snowballs. Got pretty good at it too! Following are a few pictures of her snow day activities.

Week of Thanks-Day #1

Well, its that time of year again, and I can't believe its here. That's right...the time of family, friends, food (and lots of it) and expanding waitslines that are the cause of those pesky unkept New Years Resolutions every year. That's right...You Guessed It.............It's the Holiday Season!!!!! And it is in full swing with Christmas music already playing on 104.7 and the adorably cute Christmas ornaments that I just bought laying on the desk in the office begging to be hung on the Christmas tree. That's right, I'm ready! And in the spirit of Thanksgiving this week, I thought I would take a few minutes each day to express what I'm thankful for. And in case you've noticed the date on this post, you can see that I'm already a day behind, so there will be two posts today to make up for yesterday!

Today, (yesterday) I am truly thankful to have a job. Two, to be exact. Don't get me wrong, I do my fair share of complaining about office related issues and getting up so early to get there, but I am truly grateful everyday that God has blessed me with a way to help support my family and hopefully bring glory to His name everyday! I am thankful for the opportunity to be a role model to the kids I teach at the Y, and hope that they feel all the joy that dancing brings to the soul. I get to do what I love, and that's more than lots of people can say. It is a rare gift and I am truly blessed beyond measure. Therefore, I am thankful...

West Virginia...Wild and Wonderful!!!!!

A few weeks ago, I traveled to West Virginia to photograph Kayla's senior pictures (which are coming soon). While I was there I took the opportunity to take some great fall pictures of the entire Massie Family. The trees were absolutely beautiful and although the day started off foggy, it cleared up nicely during the afternoon. This was such a special photoshoot for me. You see, Tammy is my only cousin on my Dad's side of the family...my sister from another mister! I was honored that she asked me to take pictures of her family, and we had a BLAST doing it. There was lots of laughter and smiles and it made for a perfect day!

Two weekends ago, Jay and I drove down to Holden Beach to spend some time with our family. We had a great time and didn't want to come back to reality. Early one morning, I walked the beach for a little while and took a few pictures. Following are a few of my favorites.

Anna Grace Loves Summer...

Recently, I got together with my good friends Angela and Brandon and their sweet baby, Anna Grace. After pizza for dinner, we decided to wander around outside and take some pics. They were such great sports for letting me play around, and Anna Grace just enjoyed playing outside. It was an incredible afternoon with incredible people, and I think the results are pretty incredible as well. Hope you enjoy!

Josh and Nicole...Married!

One day while Nicole washed dishes, she noticed Josh making a ring out of bread ties. "How cute," she thought. When Josh came over and put it on her hand, again she thought, "How cute." She had forgotten that she had always said that a bread tie ring was enough for her. And when the bread tie ring was too small and Josh pulled out the real ring, the rest of their lives began.

This past weekend, I had the great pleasure of traveling to Phoenix to photograph Josh and Nicole's wedding. Nicole and I went to college together, and we were roomates our Junior year. I was thrilled when I got the call that she was getting married and even more humbled when she asked me to be their photographer.

Josh and Nicole have known each other for like...umm...EVER! As her mom put it the other day, they met "in the hood!" Gainesville, FL that is. And as life happened, they both moved away but always kept in touch. It wasn't too long ago that Josh re-entered Nicole's life, and the rest, as they say, is history. Congratulations you guys, and thanks for letting me share in such a special day! I love you so much and am so happy that you have each other and this time together...

This past weekend, Jay and I went to Charleston with our friends James and Allie to celebrate The 4th with friends and family. We had a blast going to the beach and watching fireworks from the porch. When I logged in to my Facebook today I saw a post by Anna and Corinne's mom saying that she sent in a picture to Matilda Jane of her girls (which I took) in their Matilda Jane clothes. The Morris Family

On Saturday I spent the late hours of the afternoon with such a sweet family. I photographed Anna Grace's first birthday party this year, and was thrilled when the Morris' wanted some family photos for Mother's Day. I had a blast, and it was nothing short of eventful...you'll see later in the post!

While everyone else was getting ready, Anna Grace, her mom and I played around in the yard a bit...When Anna Grace decided to ride her popper, the camera came out. It is a little out of focus, but she's a fast little thing! So cute!

At this point, all the kids were 100% completely OVER taking pictures. That's why I love this picture. Their faces are classic!

After picture time, their Meemaw brought them popcicles for being such good picture takers. My camera had already been put away...until I saw Anna Grace with her popcicle heading for the slip and slide. And I new the fun times were coming. She had never experienced the slip and slide before, and she loved it! Popcicle in hand, she tried her best to slide down it like her siblings and cousins were. Needless to say, she was sticky and muddy and wet and SO incredibly cute!

Anna Grace Turns 1!

The house was decorated, the food ready to eat. The cake was a masterpiece and the sounds of children playing filled the room. Only one thing was missing...the birthday girl was sleeping peacefully! She came into this world to the sights and sounds of those who love her most celebrating the most wonderful and precious child. This day, she awoke to those same things. Only this time, they were here to celebrate a wonderful first year with a precious child!

This past weekend I had the priviledge of photographing Anna Grace's first birthday party. It was a blast, and I can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday! Thanks to the Angela and Brandon (and Anna Grace of course!) for letting me share this wonderful time with you!

1. My name is Tabetha, but everyone calls me Tabby...EXCEPT for my mom who says that she didn't name me "Tabby" therefore she isn't going to call me that.
2. I love spring/summer.
3. I never liked red cars. When it came to buy my first car, what did I buy? A RED Jetta...Salsa Red to be exact, and I LOVE it!
4. Jay and I have a beautiful, wonderful, hyper, loving, super licky, tail wagging Springer Spaniel named Scarlett...she's adorable.
5. I grew up on a farm. You know, with like pigs, cows, chickens, garden and all.
6. My Granny makes the BEST rice this side of China!
7. I have two older sisters. They are fabulous-and we look nothing alike!
8. I have a degree in Dance and teach some of the cutest kids I know at the Y.
9. I'm not a morning person...just ask Jay:-)
10. I'm at home at the beach...I could lay in the sand and listen to the waves all day and then some.
11. My favorite place to visit is Charleston, SC.
12. I met my husband on a blind date.
13. My car was broken into once...it sucked.

Scarlett and the Snow...

Since I have gotten my new camera, guess who my subject of choice has been when playing with this new "toy?" Of course, its our incredibly cute dog, Scarlett. And over the past few weeks, I feel as though I've gotten to know her a little better through taking so many pictures of her. For example, I've learned that in the late afternoon, she really likes to lay in the sun. But she always lays on the cold tile in the kitchen as opposed to her bed in the family room...interesting. Maybe she likes to feel the cool on her belly and the warm on her back??? Who knows. I learned that she is a true woman as well. That's because she prefers to have the right side of her face photographed. Everytime I move to her left, she turns her head to show her "good" side! We also found out this week just how much she loves snow. Honestly, we couldn't get her to come inside. I was so sure her paws were going to be blocks of ice, but she didn't seem to care. She just wanted to chase the snowballs and eat them! Following are a few pics from the past few weeks and a few from her enjoying the snow...Enjoy!
